Banana Chai Protein Smoothie

Banana Chai SmoothieThis is a filling, protein packed and fiber rich smoothie in a Chai flavored base. If consumed for breakfast, this will keep you going and full of energy until your next meal with no need for snacking in between. On top of the protein powder, chia seeds are added which are extremely high in iron, calcium, folate, and magnesium and are also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and antioxidants.

  • 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk, or combination of both
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ¼ cup roasted, unsalted cashew nuts
  • 1 serving Chai-flavored, plant-based protein powder with <5g of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  1. In a blender, blend milk and spinach until smooth
  2. Add the frozen banana in small pieces and blend
  3. Add the nuts, protein powder and chia seeds and blend until smooth
*Buy a bunch of ripe bananas, peel them and freeze them in plastic bags for easy access
